My name is Igor Henrique Carvalho Cavalcanti and I graduated (2016/1) as a Mining Engineer at the Universidade Federal de Minas Gerais (UFMG) in Belo Horizonte, Brazil. I am glad to write this letter to express my interest in applying for the available position. Throughout my academic life, I have done some internships and I have acquired some international experiences that developed my English communication in a very efficient way as well as my French. Between September 2015 and March 2016, I worked as an intern in the ArcelorMittal Research Centre in Metz, France. Moreover, I studied three semesters (2013/2, 2014/1 and 2014/2) at the University of Queensland (UQ) in Brisbane, Australia, sponsored by a Brazilian Government scholarship. These international experiences turned out to be a major improvement for my communication and technical skills, and I could develop myself greatly as a professional working side by side with renowned experts. In addition, I met and shared accommodation with people from different nationalities and cultural backgrounds. This fact influenced directly on my wish to increase my knowledge of the world and society as a whole as well as forming my desire to work in an intercultural environment. Currently, environmental issues are progressively more vital, since the amount of resources available is severely being reduced. I deeply believe in the connection of nature, resources and our future as well as the future of new generations. Thus, one of my wishes as a professional is to contribute in the development of technologies that are able to work in an ever-increasing sustainable way to make our world better for all nature. Thus, this position can offer tools that enable me to propose sustainable solutions for mining activities through strategic and technological innovation, respecting the environment and preserving our planet. In conclusion, although I am already working in the mining industry, I am looking forward to improve my scientific/professional knowledge in the area and pursue an international career. I am highly motivated to perceive this position as a significant advancement in my career and life and I am committed to contribute for the development of the company. Therefore, I would be able to consolidate my mining knowledge, always thinking in sustainable solutions and aiming to affect the world positively.
